EuroChem Investment Projects Presented to Vladimir Putin

A Russian Government delegation headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited Novomoskovsky Azot, a EuroChem subsidiary located in Novomoskovsk, Tula Region. The guests toured the composite mineral fertilizer workshop currently in the startup phase. Once completed, the company will annually produce 420,000 tons of calcium-ammonia nitrates (CAN), a granulated fertilizer suitable for all types of soils and plants, and a highly competitive product on the world market. The total cost of this project is RUR 420 million. The delegation visited the company’s northern site where EuroChem is implementing two major projects to expand carbamide production and its subsequent conversion to granulated products. Thus, the Carbamide-3 workshop is currently completing a project to increase daily carbamide output from 1,525 to 2,000 tons. It was noted that these projects will make Novomoskovsky Azot Russia ’s first, and Europe ’s largest producer of granulated carbamide.

EuroChem General Director, Dmitry Strezhnev, also described to Vladimir Putin other investment projects which the Company implemented in various Russian regions. He paid particular attention to the mining project at the Gremyachinskoe potassium salt deposit which was also implemented as a public-private partnership.
 
Following the tour, Vladimir Putin held a meeting at the Novomoskovsky Azot training center on issues in developing public-private partnerships in Russia . The head of the government noted that this kind of interaction between the business community and governing authorities is developing well in the Tula Region. “I agree with Dmitry Stepanovich (D.S. Strezhnev, EuroChem General Director) that we need to maximize the efficient use of public-private partnerships in order to tackle the tasks of post-crisis development in Russian regions,” Putin said.
